HISTORY
Jhargram Raj College established in the year 1949. But in the year 1954 the Library of Jhargram Raj College started functioning. Then it had only 1194 books in order to cater academic needs of the students, teaching and non-teaching staff, research scholars and others.
ABOUT THE LIBRARY
The college library is a vital resource that contributes significantly to the academic success of students and the research endeavours of faculty members. Boasting an extensive collection of books, reference materials, journals, multimedia resources, and digital archives, the library stands out as one of the finest in the Jhargram district. RULES & REGULATIONS FOR USING THE CENTRAL LIBRARY
FOR STUDENTS
-
Books will be issued to students according to a programme to be fixed from time to time by the librarian and circulated in advance to students.
-
After receiving the registration certificate in the first semester, each student can apply for library membership card. This card allows them to check out books from the library. The card is strictly personal and cannot be transferred to others. It must be returned at the end of the session. If the card is lost, the Librarian should be informed immediately.

There is a specified limitation for the number of books that can be borrowed.

Books borrowed by one must be passed on to another reader. When done with they should, in the interest of other readers, be at once restored to the library.

Students must hand over their library cards to the Librarian on receipt of the books asked for. This card together with the original requisition slip from the students will be kept by the Librarian as the students receipt for the books issued to him.

The borrower will be held responsible for books issued to him so long as his library Card remains with the librarian. The library card will be given back when the book is returned.

Borrowers must examine the condition of the books when they take them out, otherwise they may be held responsible for the mutilation or dis-figurement of books detected later on.

Books must be returned within a fortnight of the date of issue by students of the college. They may be re-issued.
FOR STAFFS
-
Members of the teaching staff may borrow from the General Library Books and Journals up to a maximum number of 30 volumes at a time.

Members of the non-teaching staff may borrow from the General Library Books and Journals up to a maximum number of 10 volumes at a time.
-
Books must be returned to the library within 180 from the date of issue for teaching staff and 90 days for non-teaching staff.

Requisition for books for Home Issue will have to be made in prescribed forms available at the library. The borrower responsible for books issued to him so long as the receipt remains with the will be held librarian.
