Dr. Dhar joined the West Bengal Education Service as an Assistant Professor of Physics on 20th June 2009, and this institute on 11th September 2025 as an Associate Professor of Physics. Earlier, he served as Officer-in-Charge of Government General Degree College, Salboni, from 10th June 2014 to 10th September 2025, where he was the administrative head of the institute. He is an alumnus of Midnapore College, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math, and Jadavpur University. Formerly, he was a faculty member of several institutes, including Haldia Institute of Technology (2002–2004), Prabhat Kumar College, Contai (2004–2009), and Jhargram Raj College (2009–2014). He obtained his doctorate degree from Vidyasagar University under the supervision of Professor Sourangshu Mukhopadhyay. His research interest lies in Optical Parallel Processing. His special teaching interests are Quantum Mechanics, Solid State Physics, and Electronics. He has supervised several project works at both UG and PG levels. He has also supervised one Ph.D. student, who was awarded the degree for the thesis entitled “Studies on Digital All Optical Processing Using Non-linear Material Based System.” He is a reviewer for several international and national journals, including Optical Engineering, a SPIE journal published by the American Institute of Physics. He is also a visiting faculty member at several institutes.
