DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY

Department of Botany has a distinctive place in the glorious history of Jhargram Raj College, Jhargram. The Department is continuously catering to the academic and intellectual aspirations of the students inclined to the discipline of plant science since inception of Jhargram Raj College. Started as Department of Biology in the early fifties, when the conceptual aspects of the biological science were undergoing radical metamorphosis, the present Department started humming as the Department of Botany under the University of Calcutta. In the early eighties, Honours course in Botany was introduced under Vidyasagar University.
